Prototype alat uji tarik ini dapat dioperasikan secara manual dan otomatis. Untuk pengoperasian manual alat ini hanya digunakan ketika kita mau menguji sebuah  material ato digunakan untuk naik dan turunnya tanggem aja, sedangkan untuk pengoperasian secara otomatis digunakan untuk pengambilan data dan pengujian sebuah material. Ketika mau menggunakan pengoperasian secara otomatis yang harus diperhatikan adalah sensor putus pada prototype ini,kalau belum terpasang maka pengoperasiam alat ini tidak dapat digunakan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Untuk pengambilan data pertambahan panjang alat ini digunakan sebuah potensio linier.
